The Top 10 Goal Review Questions

An important part of reviewing our goals is to check on whether they are still what we want and on the level of our commitment to them. As we grow and change, what we want also changes.

As you review your goals (at least once a year, preferably more frequently) here are some of the questions to ask yourself:

1. Are these all the things I want to achieve?

Or are there others that I have put behind me but that would still bring me joy if I added them (or brought them back) to my goal list?

2. Is this (each goal in turn) something that I REALLY want?

Or is it something that I think I should want, or that other people think I should want?

3. Am I prepared to give it the energy, time and other resources that are needed to reach it?

4. Where, in the heirarchy of all my goals, does this fit?

Is it most important? Secondary? Where?

5. Are there other goals that would prevent, or work against, my reaching this goal?

If so, are they more important, or less important, than this one?

6. After surveying all of my competing goals, is this one that I still choose?

7. What resources do I need?

8. What else do I need to consider before making a firm commitment to this goal?

9. When do I want to start? To finish?

10. What is the first thing that I need to do to start towards this goal?

When will I do it?
