The Top 10 Reasons to Stick with Recovery

My mother was an alcoholic and these are the Top Ten Things I remember about her. Please don't leave your children with only memories like this about you.
1. When I got home from school she was passed out on the bed.
2. She was so drunk she fell in the bathroom and cut herself badly. Then she lied about it.
3. When she kissed me good night, her breath wreaked of alcohol and was unpleasant.
4. She cried a lot and pitied herself.
5. She neglected herself and got sores all over her legs from malnutrition.
6. My father was ashamed of her but he was loyal to her.
7. She threatened suicide all the time.
8. When we cheered her up, we just had to do it again the next day.
9. I never could enjoy things at school because I was worried she was going to kill herself.
10. She threw up all the time.
