1. Some people dont know how they feel until they get away from a situation.

These people are the air signs in astrology and the "rationals" in temperament type.

2. Some people were not touched or comforted as children and it is not a familiar sensation to them.

3. Some people were smothered by their mothers and feel like they can't breath when another person makes intimacy demands on them. Sometimes these people have asthma.

4. Some people are introverts and have strong territorial and privacy needs.

5. Some people get nervous and irritable and don't want to communicate from that position, so they go off to "cool down".

6. Some people were forced to make so many compromises when they were kids that they are not interested in doing it as adults. These people usually had a large number of siblings.

7. Some people were indoctrinated by religions that make them subservient and afraid to express an opinion. When they feel confused, they have no choice but to get away to get some perspective.

8. Some people are very freedom loving and don't like to have their wings clipped.

9. Some people grew up in an environment where impossible demands were put on them. They experience pressure under conditions most people would consider mild but they need to withdraw to keep their equilibrium and be there for themselves.

10. Some people just don't like you and don't know how to say it without hurting your feelings.
