Coaching Tip: Is your environment 'coachly'?Category: Coaching Secrets (CS213)Originally Submitted on 3/1/2000. IntroductionIt is a joke among coaches who coach by phone that one of the wonderful things about the profession is that we can coach while wearing sweatpants or shorts, without having to worry about corporate dressing or conveying the right image. However, whatever the environment we create to take our calls, WE know what it is, and it cannot help but affect us. The Coaching TipWe know that our environment needs to be immaculate - that is part of what Clean Sweep and Personal Foundation are about. But do we remember to prepare for each call so as to put us in the right frame of mind for the client who is about to call? It may be just one call out of twenty during the week for a busy coach, but it is THE one and only coaching call of the week for the client, and s/he deserves that we be prepared.
