Coaching Tip: Working Hard on Working HardCategory: Coaching Secrets (CS241)Originally Submitted on 5/1/2000. IntroductionMore activity does not always achieve more results. Sometimes more activity simply means that we are working harder and harder and believing that what we are doing will bring results, when in fact our activity is not results-oriented. The Coaching TipFor folks who tend toward perfectionism, particularly, this can be a trap. Certainly we all need to have a system, to keep records, and to dot our i's and cross our t's. However, the level of detail involved may not always be a useful contribution. We may be able to look with pride at our wonderful database, or filing system, or whatever, without having any idea how it will contribute to our desired results. Any system that takes time needs to be pegged to the results it is intended to serve.
